Peanut Butter Cup

The simplest recipes are often the most enjoyable. Back when I lived in Illinois, there was a restaurant that I would frequent that rarely if ever served anything I didn't like. The beauty of it was that their dinner menu was always changing; a small but complete selection of new, fresh, seasonal dishes every single week. One of the few constants was the "adult peanut butter cup", a more grown-up version of a childhood favorite. This is my attempt at recreating this for myself, now that I'm four hours away. I have to say, it's a pretty close match. It is a sumptuous, rich dessert that is sure to please you and anyone who's lucky enough to have you make it for them.

One of the events we were a part of was a charity cook-off, and each of the organizations that were involved had to elect an individual to cook for their team. I was chosen, and this was the recipe that I prepared. It's a gluttonous, rich, dense, sinful delicacy. Enjoy!
